Construction has started on the Montechino project, a planned $350 million luxury community in Lago Vista that will include more than 300 homes. The project is set on 250 acres on Lake Travis’ north shore near Cottonwood Hollow and will include a 20-acre park and a 70-slip marina.
Proposed amenities for Montechino include an interior lake within the park with streams terminating over a 20-foot natural waterfall; a recreation area overlooking the waterfall that will include a lazy river, swimming pool, outdoor pavilion, playground, and community fire pit; and bike paths and hiking paths.
Also planned is a 12,000 square foot, 96-room campus style hotel overlooking the interior lake. Known as “Villa Montechino,” the facility will house a community center, will serve as a venue for parties and weddings, and will house a lake-view casual dining restaurant. In addition, it will offer a furnished library and will include a yoga studio. A full time concierge service also is planned.
Students will be zoned for the new Lago Vista High School.
Homes
Home styles include single-family homes and estate homes on three to ten acres. The project also includes garden homes and waterfront condominiums. Some construction already is underway.
The Bella Vista waterfront condos will start at around $750k and go up to about $1.6 million. The Camelot Woods garden homes will range from $287k to $407k. These prices are based on the Montechino website.
According to an Austin American-Statesman article, single-family homes in the Signature Homes series will be priced from $450,000 to $700,000, and the Heritage Homes series will be priced from $650,000 to $1.2 million. Estate homes will range from $1.2 million to $5 million.
