Lakeway is now home to a new 100,000-square-foot HEB grocery store, which opened October 28 in the Oaks at Lakeway center at 2000 RM 620 South. The new store will include such features as a cold-pressed juice bar, a fresh tortilla station, a wine sampling bar, a sushi bar, expanded organic food items, and a meat market with dry-aged steaks. The store also features Table 620, a full-service, in-store restaurant and bar with Texas beers and craft cocktails.
According to a Community Impact story, the Lakeway store will be only the second HEB to carry dry-aged beef made in-store, following Wimberley. The story quotes the Regional Merchant for Market as saying patrons can reserve their cut of meat in advance and watch it age, which takes from 21 days to 120 days.
Other retail tenants for the Oaks at Lakeway center are expected to include Creamistry (custom ice cream frozen on the spot with nitrogen,) Trattoria Toscano, Factory Mattress, Level 12 Salon, MOD Pizza, Twin Liquors, Pro Nails, Orange Leaf Yogurt, MAD Greens, Torchy’s Tacos, Subway, Sakura Asia CafĂ©, McArthur’s Restaurant, Engel & Voelkers real estate brokerage, High Five entertainment center, and AT&T Wireless, according to the Austin Business Journal.
Austin 360 reports the in-store restaurant Table 620 will have indoor and patio dining and will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, plus brunch on Sunday, with menu items such as crab ceviche tostadas, prime beef and brie sliders, arugula-walnut salad, Korean fried chicken, and barbecue meats by the pound. It will be the first central Texas HEB restaurant to have a wait staff and a full bar.
