The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce is proudly displaying a new image with the slogan: Lake Travis is Back! After several years of low water levels, Lake Travis now officially is full.
Lake Travis has hovered over 681 feet – its full mark – for the past 30 days, even with the Lower Colorado River Authority opening floodgates at Mansfield Dam to relieve some of the additional inflow and storage. It was the first time since 2007 that the floodgates were opened.
Record setting rains in 2015 helped the lake rise more than 30 feet in 30 days, and a wet spring helped top off the lake to its current point.
After several tough years for businesses along Lake Travis, lake levels have helped businesses boom once again, including the sunset hub The Oasis.
