Lakeway’s Sing Along, a group of almost 100 Lakeway area residents who enjoy singing and performing, is preparing for its 2017 Spring performance. “It’s a Musical” will be held April 27-29, 2017 at the Lakeway Activity Center at 105 Cross Creek, with pre-show entertainment by the Lohman’s Crossing Band.
Reservations for the dinner and show combination will be accepted starting March 30, 2017 and can be made by calling the Lakeway Activity Center at 512.261.1010. Tickets, which are limited, are $30 per person, with the event starting each night at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner will be provided by Mangieri’s and will include lasagna, chicken alfredo, and salad. The event is BYOB.
Lakeway’s Sing Along performs twice yearly, and this much anticipated event is presented by the Lakeway Sing Alongers, The Women’s Club of Greater Lakeway, Lakeway Activity Center, and the City of Lakeway.
The group recently completed a successful Christmas Show supporting the Green Santa Project. The two sold-out performances raised $1,800 in donations for Green Santa, as well as a U-Haul truck full of toys and gifts.
The group holds auditions for new members and, starting each Fall, meets most Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in preparation for its two performances. In addition to rehearsals and practices, the group joins together socially for numerous happy hours and a karaoke party. The group then breaks from each May until the next Fall.
