Mark your calendars now for this fall when the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce hosts Lake Travis Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Brad Lancaster for a “State of the District” luncheon.
The event will be held September 20, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sonesta Hotel at 12525 Bee Cave Parkway in Bee Cave. Tickets are $40 for members of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce and $45 for non-members, with all tickets including lunch.
According to the event listing on the Chamber website, “As we all know, the exemplary Lake Travis Independent School District is the #1 reason people are moving to our little haven in the Hill Country.” The website suggests attending the event in order to be “in the know” about the latest on the popular school district.
Lake Travis ISD originally was part of the Dripping Springs Independent School District and was formed in 1981 with 541 students in grades kindergarten through twelve. Today, Lake Travis ISD enrolls approximately 9,800 students across nine campuses and is a 6A district, the largest district size in Texas.
Fifty-two percent of the district’s teachers have 10 or more years of teaching experience. Lake Travis High School has a 96.5 percent graduation rate and has been named one of “America’s Best High Schools” by Newsweek Magazine. Lancaster has been superintendent of the district since 2012.
