The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Achievement Awards and Holiday Party on December 13, 2017. Award categories include Golden Apple Award, First Time Entrepreneur, Indie Award, Business of the Year, Citizen/Volunteer of Year, and Ambassador of Year. Nominations will be accepted until December 1, 2017, and winners are chosen based on their qualifications for the award, rather than by popular vote.
Business of the Year is designed to recognize a business that has been notably active in Chamber activities and programs and been supportive of city and city group activities. Founding Entrepreneur recognizes an individual or group that is running a first-time, consumer-focused business. The Indie Award recognizes an independent, locally owned business that has delivered excellent customer service and community support. Citizen of the Year recognizes a Bee Cave, Lakeway or Spicewood-area resident “who has voluntarily and sincerely given of their time and leadership to improve the economic, civic, and cultural well-being of the Lake Travis area.” The Golden Apple is designed to showcase educators of grades Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade who have shown excellence within the academic, leadership, inspiration, and/or innovative realm. Volunteer of the Year awards an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sonesta Hotel at 12525 Bee Cave Parkway in Bee Cave and will be emceed by Lake Travis Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Brad Lancaster. Admission is $40 members and $45 for non-members. Natural Bio Health is sponsoring the event.
