Horseshoe Bay Resort Finalizes $70 Million Renovation

Looking for a quick getaway just north of Lake Travis? The Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lake LBJ is in the final stages of a $70 million renovation. Included in the renovations are a new Cap Rock Clubhouse; new guest rooms, suites, and multi-room units; and a $7.5 million project to upgrade its three Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf courses: Slick Rock, Ram Rock, and Apple Rock.

The Cap Rock Clubhouse features views of the Texas Hill Country and the golf courses, as well as a dining room and bar, a pro shop, a swimming pool and cabana, a pavilion area, and a practice and teaching facility.

The golf course renovations included installing 007 bent grass greens to improve turf quality, expanding green sizes, renovating bunkers, re-shaping and leveling tee-boxes, and adding rock retaining walls, including at the “Million Dollar Hole,” where the course winds along a 35-yard rock-walled waterfall.

“The investment we have put into these renovations have elevated the quality of our golf to a national level and has made the overall golf experience more fun for our guests,” said Horseshoe Bay Resort Managing Director Bryan Woodward. “Everything traveling golfers value, you’ll find here in a truly distinct and elevated presentation.”

The Horseshoe Bay Resort is located on the constant-level waters of Lake LBJ on a 7,000 acre expanse of Texas Hill Country. “People know desert golf, mountain golf, links golf and parkland golf, but if you’ve never experienced golf in the rocky, panoramic Texas Hill Country, your bucket list has another line to check,” Woodward said. “Once you play golf in this setting, it just stays with you.”

The resort is a AAA-Four Diamond and Conde Nast Readers’ Choice Award winning property that also offers a world-class spa and health club, tennis facilities, an 18-hole putting green, and a full-service lake marina.
